Episode 166: Pot Calling The Kettle Black

May 18, 2012 - 5:00 pm 1 Comment

Jen, Jana, and Pete discuss a lot in this episode. It is interesting to look back on early episodes of the show and the 15 to 20 minutes of each recording. Nowadays there is so much going on the shows are running much longer. The crew tackles some game changes that have been asked for numerous times. We get to talk some of Pete twisted skill point hording obsession.  Jenn gets a taste of her own medicine when her boyfriend is on the computer playing Backyard monsters all night. Well and lots of other stuff. Enjoy.

Episode 165: Not My Bailiwick

May 14, 2012 - 5:00 pm 4 Comments

Well the show starts off a person down. So Jana and Pete get the ball rolling. Jen joins us later in the heat of PAC conversation. While we fully understand that not everyone will be swayed by our perspective on PAC.  I wish some would consider the negative impact it has for future PAC member.  We think if you consider the actual structure of PAC. You might have a slightly different perspective. If not, so be it. We also spend some time talking about a response to one of the last shows. Specifically regarding Wall Readers/Scrubbers, and their role in Wars. An argument which has two sides and both are right,  leading to justified confusion.

Episode 164: The Defintion Of Insanity

May 11, 2012 - 5:00 pm 2 Comments

We login each day to play the game we love. We love to play the game in our own way whether it is robbing or fighting or jobbing, or even battling/waring.  We have a routine that works for us. We think this is a key point Zynga continues to miss. The crew had an epiphany tonight.  We are the definition of insanity. Jana summed it up repeating the same steps over and over and getting the same results. We (the community) have pleaded, posted, ranted about the frustrations of the game. Each time the results are the same. Zynga knows best and choose to ignore the players. Instead of trying the few things the players suggest for a month and see what happens. One month is not going to kill them financially. Most are supporting the VIP program. So now they get regular cash from players. Well we hope you enjoy this edition of the Informant Podcast insanity style.

Episode 163: PAC and Botting, A Hot Topic

May 7, 2012 - 5:00 pm 1 Comment

Pete and Jen are alone and that could only mean one thing. PAC and Botting discussions. Zynga has released its stance on botting in the Blog. The gist of it, no script is safe.  While many of the script writers strive to make them as safe as possible there are no guarantees. Also many scripts are open source allowing for player changes to timers, etc. The burden on remaining safe rests with you the player. This has has been the general rule since the first script was designed and used with MW.  Scripts used in moderation, will probably never trigger a warning. However, actions running in multiple tabs or for large spans of time might get you on the Zynga radar gun.

Episode 162: The City Dump And Trash Service

May 4, 2012 - 5:00 pm 1 Comment

Pete, Jana and Jen are back to discuss a few updates in two spocklets,  the gimmicks in the game,  and some things in the game that need updated or either removed. They also discuss the VIP with the renewal time here and not everyone  having it yet. The war loot glitch that is still going on is talked about along with bugs in fighting and also many people having trouble with the limited time properties due to limit restriction in parts. And a new gifting event will be coming soon.

Episode 161: TIP On Your Side!!!

April 30, 2012 - 5:00 pm 2 Comments

The crew meets up to cover just a little about the game becuase of the volume of game additions that got thrown at us last week. Pistol Pete does talk a little about the FBRemoveFriends spocklet and the as a note. This has been fixed for both Timeline and Non-Timeline users. He also talks about the addition of the family Battle ranks to Family Ranks site. http://spockon.me/familyrank. Jen talks a bit about the War Glitch and the impact on the game. As well as the need for something to offset ices in family progression. She also shares that there was a new PAC meeting, for which, minutes will soon me publish by Zynga. Episode 160: Way To Pile It On, Zynga

April 27, 2012 - 5:00 pm 1 Comment

WOW, could we have gotten and more new stuff to do.  Well. I guess the answer is yes, becuase after we recorded yet another limited time property landed on our screens.  Pete and Jen are solo tonight. Spockholm released Union Hall 2.0 as a toolbar feature.  Jen does get to finally dump out all the changes that has occurred. We think way more than necessary.

Episode 159: You Asked For It, You Got It, SUGGESTIONS

April 23, 2012 - 5:00 pm 4 Comments

Once again Zynga is asking the players for feedback/suggestions. The gang shares some of the things they would change in the game. It’s not known if this time will be different and Zynga will listen but all we can do is hope for the best. Pete plays a player rant and shout out. Jana give a special shout out to Frank, a long time fan and friend.

Episode 158: Just Going Through The Motions

April 20, 2012 - 5:00 pm No Comments

It is a very odd feeling, seeming like you are just going through the motions. Log in, do the things that have to be done and question is there more. The Jen, Jana, and Pete ponder this thought and more. Pistol Pete describes some new toolbar additions, as well as, a new spocklet called the Rollback Analyzer. He covers some of the gaps he left in describing the mods to mission crew link discussed last show. Spockholm now has a Twitter feed for publishing script changes.   Jen covers all the game additions and weird problems surfacing in the game, especially in the new secret district.

Episode 157: Copy And Paste, Rinse and Repeat

April 16, 2012 - 5:00 pm No Comments

The crew was down today to just two. Jen and Pete get to hold down the fort.  While there were some minor changes here and there. There once again seems to be a trend, to copy and paste events. I think it is rough to garnish excitement over the game that is like living groundhogs day over and over. We hope some new stuff is on the horizon and we do not mean more bandits and properties.
